We have a thriving partnership with Toyota Manufacturing UK and are extremely grateful for the range of support they provide through their (CSR) corporate social responsibility programme. The Toyota apprentices have twice chosen the YMCA to benefit from their annual Community Project Scheme. This has seen the creation of a new garden and seating area in the Campus and the development of an allotment patch for our residents.
The Toyota Working Assets Programme has been running for two years with over 20 YMCA residents benefiting from the 25 week preparation for work programme. The programme has seen service user gain valuable employability skills and 120 hour of work experience. Many have gone on to gain full time employment, apprenticeships and places on vocational courses. We have to give grateful thanks to Toyota Manufacturing UK for their support through their (CSR) corporate social responsibility programme in the company’s support for the YMCA. Not only have Toyota apprentices created a garden area at the YMCA Derbyshire Campus but they provide opportunities for our services users to gain valuable work experience within the Toyota factory at Burnaston. In fact they, or their suppliers, have taken a number of our student learners on as employees, which is a great outcome for all of us-the YMCA Derbyshire, Toyota Manufacturing UK and especially our client group.
