This World Mental Health Day, YMCAs across the country are encouraging people to take a WHOLE HOUR for themselves.

Each year an estimated 20% of children and young people worldwide experience mental health difficulties.

We believe that no young person, no matter who they are, what their background is, or where they are in the world, should ever feel isolated, marginalised or discriminated against because of their mental health.

#IAMWHOLE and YMCA are on a mission to tackle the stigma surrounding mental health difficulties and encourage young people to speak out, seek help and get support.

On the 10th October 2018, we are launching a movement that encourages people to take an hour out of their day, from 12pm – 1pm, or whenever is best for you on this day, to do something to support their mental wellbeing.

WHOLE HOUR aims to recognise and champion the importance of self-care and take time to look after your mental health. There are information packs full of resources available here through the #IAMWHOLE website if you’d like to participate.

At YMCA Derbyshire on World Mental Health Day, we are marking this important day, through not only helping to raise awareness and drive action to improve the mental health of our community, but to support the long-term wellbeing needs of our staff, residents and learners.

There will be several activites  available during the day such as relaxation sessions, quick coaching, tea & talk sessions and other wellness workshops.
