The idea behind our visionary Campus is based on the university campus concept. This includes areas of accommodation, space for communal activities and socialising, alongside dedicated areas for vocational training, personal development and education.
Gillian Sewell, Chief Executive of YMCA Derbyshire, said:
“The new Campus building is, quite literally, a dream come true. An initial vision of an integrated facility drawing together residential accommodation and state-of-the-art training facilities has become a reality.”
The Campus for Training & Education is YMCA Derbyshire’s flagship centre. Conveniently located on London Road in Derby it is close to Pride Park and only a mile from the city centre. HRH The Duchess of Gloucester opened the facility on 2nd November 2010.
The Campus provides outstanding meeting and conference facilities in modern, spacious and bright surroundings with full catering & hospitality services available. Our centre also provides ground-breaking services to local businesses and the community. It incorporates 87 units of accommodation, training & education facilities, office space and a very popular café open to the public. If you want to hire our facilities click here.

Car parking is provided onsite for 23 vehicles plus two dedicated disabled spaces situated and clearly marked at the front of the building, together with bike shelters for cycles and motorbikes.
The nearest railway station is Derby Midland Railway Station which is approximately a 20 minute walk away, or five minutes by taxi.
Derby Railway Station is ideally located at the heart of the national railway network. The Campus is about a mile’s walk from the railway station. Simply exit through the main ticket hall and walk straight on along Midland Road to a T-junction with London Road. Then, turn left along London Road and find us on the right after about a mile. Alternatively, Arriva bus routes 1 and 1A go directly from the front of the station to the Campus (ask for the bus stop for Ascot Drive) as does the Skylink bus which serves East Midlands Airport.
By car from the South:
Leave the M1 at Junction 24. Take the A50 and then the A6 into Derby. Turn south on to the A5111 ring road briefly before re-joining the A6 into Alvaston. Then drive into Wilmorton until you arrive at a roundabout with a Dunelm Mill store on the corner. Continue straight on (on the A5194 towards Derby City Centre) and The Campus is directly on your left.
By car from the North:
Leave the M1 at Junction 28. Take the A38 towards Derby, taking the left slip road onto the A61 into Derby city centre. Follow signs for the city centre and then Pride Park. Pride Park is accessed off the A52 Brian Clough Way from the Pentagon island. Drive through Pride Park (with the Ipro Stadium to your left) passing the Audi garage and, going over the railway bridge, you come to a roundabout with a large Dunelm Mill store. Turn right and The Campus will appear almost immediately on your left.
