Our campaign: Can you help us to provide support to those most in need and affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is with the kindness and generosity of people just like you that we can give young people and those most in need in our communities a helping hand and change lives forever.

Why: Due to the ongoing pandemic, our services are more crucial than ever. In 2020, our young people struggled with poor mental health, food and or digital poverty, loneliness, isolation and unemployment. Our team have been working exceptionally hard to provide much needed support for those that need it. We are now seeking to raise further funds to continue and expand our vital work..

When: Our campaign will run through Lent Tuesday 16th February 2021 – Saturday 3rd April.

There are various ways you can get involved you may wish to give something up for Lent, take part in our virtual Sleep Easy event, get sponsored to complete 174 your way for YMCA or hold your own small virtual event, we’ve included more information below and we’d love to hear your ideas too.

How can you help?

Virtual Sleep Easy event

174 Your Way for YMCA

This year marks 174 years since our YMCA was founded by Sir George Williams. Please ensure you are completing these activities in safe and Covid-19 compliant way.

You could;

Jog 1.74, 17.4 kilometres or miles – Walk 1.74 or 17.4 kilometres or miles – Cycle 1.74 or 17.4 kilometres or miles – you could even do a 17.4 hour game-a-thon!

This is a great way to raise funds, by asking your family, friends or colleagues to sponsor you for completing 174 Your Way for YMCA. More details on how to set up your fundraising page here.

Virtual Coffee Morning

Hold a virtual coffee morning. Gather your friends, family or colleagues and hold a YMCA virtual coffee morning. You could grab a coffee or a cuppa, a piece of cake and take time to talk. The money you’d usually spend buying drink and cake out you could perhaps donate to our Easter campaign via this LINK.

Virtual Quiz Night

Could you hold a quiz night with your friends, family or work colleagues and donate what you’d spend at a pub quiz night to our YMCA.

If you’ve got any questions or would like some support, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team on fundraising@ymcaderbyshire.org.uk.

Thank you for helping us to continue changing the lives of those most in need.
