It is with the kindness and generosity of people just like you that we can give young people and those most in need in our communities a helping hand and change lives forever.
Due to the pandemic, our services are more crucial than ever. In 2020, our young people struggled with poor mental health, food and or digital poverty, loneliness, isolation and unemployment. Our team have been working exceptionally hard to provide much needed support for those that need it. We are now seeking to raise further funds to continue and expand our vital work.
There are various ways you can get involved. You may wish to take part in an exercise challenge, have your very own Sleep Easy at any time of year, get sponsored to complete 174 your way for YMCA or hold your own small virtual event, we’ve included more information below and we’d love to hear your ideas too.
Take a look at our fundraising calendar below to see YMCA Derbyshire’s upcoming fundraising events.
How can you help?
56 for the 56%
56% of our young people have told us they struggle with their mental health. Our health and wellbeing team’s work is vital to support those who need time to engage in positive activities and improve their mental health.
We now need to raise funds to enable our team to provide more options when it comes to wellbeing activities. Please join us in the 56-challenge by simply using the numbers to set a challenge and getting sponsored!
Our Sleep Easy event takes place every year in March at Derbyshire County Cricket Ground. In 2021, we hosted our first ever virtual Sleep Easy, where participants took place in their gardens, on their sofas, or simply anywhere except their bed. Sleep Easy is not just a one night event, you can take part any time, anywhere. If you’d like more information on sleeping rough for one night so others don’t have to, click here.
Virtual Coffee Morning
Hold a virtual coffee morning. Gather your friends, family or colleagues and hold a YMCA virtual coffee morning. You could grab a coffee or a cuppa, a piece of cake and take time to talk. The money you’d usually spend buying drink and cake out you could donate to YMCA Derbyshire HERE.
Virtual Quiz Night
Could you hold a quiz night with your friends, family or work colleagues and donate what you’d spend at a pub quiz night to our YMCA.
