YMCA Derbyshire would like to welcome a volunteer to support the maintenance department, tending to properties owned by the organisation. An I-Volunteer would be expected to offer support to the team using a solution centric approach to their work, increasing the capacity of the maintenance department to respond to issues in a timely manner. Possible activities for this role are, but not limited to:
- Painting & decorating
- General upkeep activities
- Removal of furniture, fixtures, and fittings from empty properties
- Checking the condition of properties
Volunteer maintenance assistants will be based at The Campus, 770 London Road, Derby, DE24 8UT. Volunteering hours will be negotiated between applicants and the accommodation manager before the role begins.
This position is open to all applicants and staff can provide basic training to successful applicants. This position may be relevant to individuals looking to improve their skills or students undertaking relevant qualifications that can apply their learnt knowledge and skills to the role.
Because of the work YMCA Derbyshire does, a DBS certificate will be required for successful applicants before they enter the role; YMCA Derbyshire will manage and pay for the DBS certificate on behalf of applicants. Volunteers will be supported in their role and have access to supervisions.
