I-Lead volunteer role
YMCA Derbyshire is recruiting an I-Lead volunteer to oversee volunteers within the maintenance department. We would like a competent leader with maintenance skills to offer support and on the job training to our volunteers. An I-Volunteer would be expected to work to uphold the organisations values whilst tending to both on-site accommodation and off-site properties. Possible activities for this role are, but not limited to:
- Overseeing volunteers
- Managing volunteer hours
- Checking progress of work
- Training volunteers
- Assisting the development of volunteers and staff
- Painting & decorating
- General upkeep activities
- Removal of furniture, fixtures, and fittings from empty properties
- Checking the condition of properties
A volunteer team leader will be based at The Campus, 770 London Road, Derby, DE24 8UT. Volunteering hours will be negotiated between applicants and the accommodation manager before the role begins.
The ideal volunteer would have sufficient experience in general maintenance work and some experience in the activities above. Applicants with other relevant experience will also be considered.
Because of the work YMCA Derbyshire does, a DBS certificate will be required for successful applicants before they enter the role; YMCA Derbyshire will manage and pay for the DBS certificate on behalf of applicants. Volunteers will be supported in their role and have access to supervisions.
