Our alternative educational offering, Key College, is proud to announce expansion into Burton-on-Trent. This investment of a sixth centre will allow us to offer accredited vocational qualifications to a wider number of students across Staffordshire.

Key College offers a range of courses from construction and caring for children, to health and social care and hospitality. All qualifications are nationally recognised through City & Guilds, and during all courses, students will develop English and maths skills to enhance employability. As an Ofsted ‘GOOD’ rated training provider, Key College offers “a caring and supportive environment for learners, enabling them to overcome barriers to learning, raising their aspirations and life chances”. For learners who need extra support, bilingual tutors help to overcome language barriers, and small groups ensure personalised learning.

Julia Hodder, Head of Training and Education at YMCA Derbyshire, said: “We are very excited to be opening our next centre in September. This is a fantastic addition to our current offering, and we are looking forward to meeting our new learners in Burton. I’d like to take the opportunity to thank YMCA Burton for all of their support and encouragement so far.”

Andy Horsnail, Operations Manager at YMCA Burton, said: “In the spirit of collaboration, we are delighted that YMCA Burton is working closely with YMCA Derbyshire on this new venture. We are enjoying supporting one another to change lives in our local community.”
