Pick a day that best suits your business, school, college or community group, invite everyone to wear a Christmas jumper and make a suggested £1 donation.

Christmas and New Year can often be a lonely and challenging time for young people living in supported housing. This is why every year, we ask the local community across Derbyshire to get involved and support in whatever way they can so we can give our residents a special Christmas.

In 2017, we raised a staggering £9,000 through the kindness of local businesses, community groups, schools and individuals. This enabled us to;

► Provide 273 meals throughout the festive season for our residents
► Offer tailored support to engage with some of our most hard to reach and vulnerable residents making sure they had someone to talk to
► Enable our young residents to participate in many positive activities such as bowling, cinema trips and football tournaments, all of which helped them through the difficult holiday period
► Host a December Community Meal in collaboration with local mental health charity Head High where more than 50 residents, staff and members of our local community came together and enjoyed a 2-course meal designed and prepared by a team of residents

Every night of the year, YMCA Derbyshire provides a safe place for more than 300 people to sleep. You can make a real difference to young people at risk of homelessness this Christmas. Thank you.
Gillian Sewell, CEO YMCA Derbyshire

Last year’s Meal was traditional with all the trimmings, just how I like it. Being at YMCA Derbyshire on Christmas Day helped me to get through a challenging time. It was so helpful being in a festive atmosphere with other people around me.

I enjoyed socialising over Christmas last year. I joined in with team sports and quizzes, which I was grateful for as they filled my time and made me feel good
