YMCA Derbyshire Sleep Easy

16 January 2018

We are excited to announce that YMCA Derbyshire’s 2018 Sleep Easy event is now open for registration! Will you sleep rough so that others don’t have to?

This year’s event will take place on Friday 9 March 2018 from 7pm (until 7am the following morning).

What is Sleep Easy and where does the money raised go?

Sleep Easy is a YMCA fundraising initiative that exists to raise money to help change the lives of people who find themselves temporarily without accommodation. All the money raised from YMCA Derbyshire’s event goes directly to the Safe Front Door Campaign. As a result of this campaign last year, we provided accommodation-related support to 317 people. We envisage the need for our services to continue to grow in the next 12 months and are asking you to get behind our campaign to enable us to continue providing the vital support needed.

How do I register to take part?

All you need to do is register by clicking here. Once registered, you will receive a full information pack with includes details of how to set up your online fundraising page that is linked to our BT My Donate account. This ensures all the money raised goes directly to YMCA Derbyshire.

How much does it cost to take part?

It costs just £10 to register if you are in full time employment and £5 for all others, and you can set your own fundraising target.

Worried about having to raise a set amount of money?

You can set your own fundraising target, we don’t require a minimum amount to be raised. We do have a stretching fundraising target of £40,000 to raise from the event so every bit that can be raised helps us achieve this target. However the other main aim of our event is to raise awareness of the issues of homelessness in Derby and Derbyshire, and we look forward to welcoming all regardless of how much sponsorship you are able to raise.
