Breakfast & After-School Clubs
Working in partnership with St John Fisher Catholic Voluntary Academy YMCA Derbyshire is pleased to provide Wraparound Care. This is in the form of breakfast and after-school provision.
Our experienced and dedicated team provide a safe, friendly environment for your child that provides lots of exciting activities before and after school, including: problem solving, arts and crafts, a range of sports, help with homework and much more. Our wide range of activities will support children’s natural stages of development and interests alongside ensuring healthy and nutritious food is provided.
We support daily routines to enable children to become alert and ready for the school day and then offer time for homework and fun and games after the school day so children go home relaxed.
The Breakfast Club includes a nutritious breakfast. The After School Club includes a nutritious tea.
In the shape of PE lessons
Our experienced and dedicated team provides high quality, cost-effective and tailor-made PPA cover to local schools in the form of PE lessons. We ensure that the children have at least one hour of quality, balanced PE a week.
YMCA Derbyshire brings with it that extra peace of mind that all our staff members are first aid-trained, possess up-to-date Enhanced DBS certificates and have numerous sporting qualifications to their names. They work with teachers to plan exciting PE lessons and will also complete risk assessments for their activities. What’s more, they support teachers in the final end-of-year reports by providing child assessments at the end of every subject area taught.
We provide every aspect of the PE curriculum:
- Outdoor adventure
- Striking and fielding
- Invasion games
We also provide PSHE and follow the SEAL scheme of work (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning).
