YMCA Harvest Festival

Harvest Festival is a really important time of the year for us. Be part of it by helping us provide much needed food, toiletries, household items and other goods to people at risk of homelessness, poverty and social isolation in Derby.

Why support us?

Last Year we provided:

· Support to over 800 people in need who visited our Padley@YMCA Derbyshire Day Centre.

· Over 21,000 hot and fresh meals from our Day Centre or in one of the 2513 emergency food parcels.

· 1710 toiletry parcels and 593 clothing parcels.

All of these items were donated by you our generous supporters during Harvest Festival and throughout the year.

In August our Day Centre will be moving to its forever home on Parcel Terrace to become the Padley@YMCA Derbyshire Community Hub. Here we will still provide the services we do now along with a community pantry and kitchen, which gives families and individuals most in need, the opportunity to prepare meals. At YMCA Derbyshire Campus Harvest Festival donations are used for our Y-Shop and food parcels, which are given to residents in need.

How to donate items

Deliveries and collections days are Monday, Thursday and Friday between 10am and 3pm during September and October. Please click the button to book your slot.

Schools, please note that the week before half term is the busiest for school collections, and we will be fully booked quickly, so please consider a different week to hold your Harvest Festival celebration.

This year deliveries will be to our warehouse, 20 Shaftesbury Street South, Derby DE23 8YH.

We are running an online donation campaign if you wish to donate money instead of items. Click on the Harvest Donation button on the right of the page and we will purchase essential items for you.

Volunteering

We are looking for a team of volunteers to help collect, sort and process all of the wonderful donations we receive in September and October. If you would like to help in the warehouse, be a van driver or driver’s mate then click on the become a Volunteer button.
