Do you have a little spare time to give to your community?

On the week 26th July – 1st August, YMCA Derbyshire is hoping to get as many Derbyshire community members together as possible to help those that need it most.

What is Community Week?

This is our opportunity to provide as much support as we can to those who have really struggled throughout the pandemic and are still finding it difficult to get back on their feet. YMCA will be taking part in three big projects across the week and some smaller ones.

There is the option to get involved with YMCAD and join them throughout the week whenever suits, or volunteers can find their own tasks and send pictures and information via email or social media.

The aim of the week is very simple; give back to the community and aid economic recovery after a very difficult time for many.

What is YMCA Derbyshire doing?

Depending on the number of volunteers, YMCA will be running volunteer sessions throughout the week that can be attended for as long or as little as each volunteer likes. These will be based in Alvaston, Allenton, Chaddesden, Derwent and Heanor.

Once you have expressed an interest to, the team will ask for your availability and find what session might suit you.

The hope is that there will be many different groups giving their time to a variety of areas, so please do shout up if you have any ideas of somewhere that could really do with a hand.

How can you get involved?

There may be a big project in your community or area that you think would be brilliant to get finished but you simply haven’t had time or motivation. Now is your chance! You could let YMCAD know about the project and get like-minded volunteers together to complete it.

If you haven’t got an idea of a task or a job but still really want to give some time, just get in touch with the team and they may be able to find a task to suit your location and time availability.

There’s no minimum or maximum time required, we just want to get as many hours given to others as possible!
