What does volunteering for YMCA Derbyshire involve?

We’re looking for people with a passion for events and fundraising, to help us raise funds for our young people and projects.
The role will help our team with events, any ideas for fundraisers, engaging community members and general awareness of YMCA Derbyshire. As a YMCA Derbyshire volunteer, you will be supported by our staff to give you the confidence to achieve your role.

YMCA Key College supports young people between the ages of 15-19 to achieve a meaningful level of academic attainment. This enables them to go on to further education, employment or training.
Our brilliant volunteer Teaching Assistants work with our tutors to support our students to increase their subject knowledge, build their confidence and study skills.
Apply to be a volunteer Teaching Assistant with us and you will have the opportunity to assist our students in their studies and gain confidence along the way. Sessions are delivered on our premises at the same time each week. We provide all of our volunteer Teaching Assistants with the opportunity to complete their Teaching Assistant qualification. We also provide resources and we will process a free DBS check for you. Sign up here.

Our popular Y-Kidz programme aims to help children increase their confidence and self-esteem. We do this through a wide range of activities at breakfast and after-school sessions (‘wraparound care’), lunch clubs and holiday activity clubs.
