How does it help YMCA Derbyshire?

For many of the young people we support, the festive season can be especially hard, as they may be separated from their families. With your help, we can share warmth, joy, and a sense of belonging.

Here are some of the ways we hope to be able to support our people this year:

A Present for Everyone

This Christmas, we want our YMCA residents, Key College students and those engaging at Padley@YMCA Derbyshire to have a gift to open on Christmas Day.

Opportunities All Year Round

Your generosity enables us to continue offering vital education sessions on money management, employment, and wellbeing, as well as fun days out for our residents and community members to enjoy.

Warm Meals and Food Parcels

Through Padley@YMCA Derbyshire, we’re able to provide free hot meals and food parcels for those who need them most throughout winter and into 2026.

Your support could help people like Kim

Kim comes to Padley@YMCA Derbyshire to have a hot meal and to use our community pantry. Our team have helped Kim build her confidence and which has led her to get involved with the adult learning courses and wellbeing activities ran at the hub.

“I come to the community hub twice a week. The meals are warming and real comfort food on a cold day!

I have received support in all aspects of my life. I wasn’t sure on doing the training courses at first but the team didn’t give up on me, and I have now gained 8 certificates for the online courses I have completed.

I am so glad I came. It’s changing my life in such a positive way.”
